Recorded in Virginia Beach and Blacksburg, Virginia. Recorded on Tascam four track cassette recorder in 1986 by Brian idle edsel Diederich and Mark Waldrop during their freshman year in college at Virginia Tech. The new Thing That year Brian received the four track recorder that year as a Christmas gift from his parents in Virginia Beach. The two began recording on that very day. Mark came over that day and they miked up the drums and began recording the the drum tracks which were later bounced down (consolidated).

The drums were recorded in Idle's parents living room. The bass, guitar and vocals were recorded in two separate locations. One of the rooms was a walk in closet that was adjoined to a room shared by his four younger sisters. The other location was at Virginia Tech music department practice room.

Regardless of where he recorded his vocals getting high on weed would help to bring out the best in the recordings.
